While the basic Fiscal Spend Report structure covers standard metrics, there are important nuances in how certain metrics are calculated that impact data interpretation:

This guide explains how to generate and understand a Fiscal Spend Report within Kohl's Media Network (KMN) onsite platform powered by Koddi. These reports provide comprehensive visibility into campaign-level spend and performance over a selected period.

What Is a Fiscal Spend Report?

A Fiscal Spend Report provides a breakdown of advertising spend and key performance metrics (such as impressions, clicks, ROAS, and Transactions) by campaign and vendor, incorporating halo attribution for a comprehensive view of campaign impact.

Report Structure and Key Metrics

Each report typically includes the following dimensions and metrics, with a focus on understanding the halo effect:

Dimensions

  • Advertiser Name – The vendor associated with the campaign.

  • Campaign ID – The unique ID associated with the campaign.

  • Campaign Name – The descriptive name of the campaign.

  • Experience Name – The placement type of the campaign (e.g., Product Listing Ad (PLA), Banner Ad, Sponsored Brand).

Metrics

  • Spend – Total spend accrued during the report window.

  • Impressions – The number of times the ad was served.

  • Clicks – The number of user clicks.

  • CPC (Cost per Click) – Cost-per-click, calculated as Spend ÷ Clicks.

  • CTR (Click-Through Rate) – Percentage of impressions that resulted in a click, calculated as Clicks ÷ Impressions.

  • Transactions – The number of sales attributed to the ad, including both direct and indirect impacts (halo effect).

  • ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) – Return on ad spend, calculated as Revenue ÷ Spend, considering halo sales.

  • Halo ROAS – Return on ad spend specifically attributed to halo effects.

Advanced Metric Interpretation

While the basic Fiscal Spend Report structure covers standard metrics, there are important nuances in how certain metrics are calculated that impact data interpretation:

  1. Navigate to the Reporting section.

  2. Select "Filters & Dimensions" and add the above dimensions and metrics to build your custom report, ensuring to include Transactions and Halo ROAS for advanced analysis.

  3. Choose the appropriate date range or fiscal month (e.g., June 2025).

  4. Click "Apply" to view the report.

  • Downloaded in .CSV format.

  • Saved as Saved Report to easily access in the future.

  • Scheduled to be delivered to yourself or others on your team at a designated interval. Read how to build a Scheduled Report.

Note: When analyzing scheduled reports, consider the halo attribution model for a more accurate understanding of campaign impact.

Best Practices for Data Analysis

When analyzing Fiscal Spend Reports with halo attribution:

  • Cross-reference with other reports that may show direct-only attribution for comparison.

  • Monitor trends over time rather than focusing solely on absolute metric values.

  • Consider the halo effect when setting performance benchmarks and campaign optimization strategies.
